Pittsburgh Steelers fans can once again celebrate the team’s thrilling Super Bowl XLIII victory at the Heinz Field 6th Super Bowl Column Unveiling and Celebration Concert presented by Bud Light on Tuesday, August 11th. Stadium gates open at 3 p.m. and admission is free.
There will be free concerts all day in the South Plaza, headlined by an evening performance by country music sensation Billy Ray Cyrus. Others scheduled to perform include rock group Tres Lads, The Chris Higbee Project (former founder of the Povertyneck Hillbillies) and local country act The Stickers, whose single, “Girl in a Pick Up Truck,” sits in the Billboard Top 100 on the nationwide charts.
The 6th Super Bowl column will be unveiled between 6-6:30 p.m. in the Coca-Cola Great Hall. In addition, all six Super Bowl trophies will be on display on the Coca-Cola Great Hall stage.
Cyrus, co-star with his daughter Miley of the hit television show “Hannah Montana,” first burst onto the scene in 1992 with his debut album, Some Gave All, featuring the hit single, “Achy Breaky Heart.” Recently, he and Miley collaborated on the hit “Ready, Set, Don’t Go,” which was nominated in 2008 for the Tearjerker Video of the Year at the CMT Awards show.
The day of family fun and kids’ activities will also include an opportunity for fans to get their picture taken on the field and a meet and greet with Steelers’ mascot Steely McBeam. Stadium concession stands and festival foods will be available for purchase.
